POSITION: Engineering Tech PAY GRADE: 106 ($38,124) DEPARTMENT: Roads & Bridges RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a Variety of Sub-Professional Field and office Engineering Work. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position is required to perform a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required to perform routine and complex technical civil engineering work to include but not limited to surveying, drafting, Encroachment Permit issue/inspections and Paralegal work for County engineering projects. Performs a variety of routine inspections on and enforcement of all Building and Codes as well as Development Standards issues to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances relative to buildings and property maintenance. The School Resource Officer Unit is accepting applications for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. We are looking for customer service oriented and motivated individuals to fill an open position. A School Resource Officer's responsibility is to conduct law enforcement duties under limited supervision. Work performed includes providing a safe environment for students; protecting property, facilities, citizens, staff, and performing other duties assigned. He/she shall serve as a liaison between law enforcement and school, school administrators and local juvenile authorities while adhering to all departmental policies. Minimum Qualifications: Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer. Any disciplinary action in the last twelve months will be reviewed for qualification. Appraises property using the sales comparison approach, the cost approach, and also the income approach using direct capitalization method and gross rent multipliers. Appears before appeals boards and courts from the Administrative Law Court up to the Supreme Court to defend County appraisals. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field and minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the appraisal and taxation process and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a South Carolina real estate appraiser’s license. Must complete fourteen (14) hours of continuing education credits biennially. Must possess a valid SC driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
