The School Resource Officer Unit is accepting applications for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. We are looking for customer service oriented and motivated individuals to fill an open position. A School Resource Officer's responsibility is to conduct law enforcement duties under limited supervision. Work performed includes providing a safe environment for students; protecting property, facilities, citizens, staff, and performing other duties assigned. He/she shall serve as a liaison between law enforcement and school, school administrators and local juvenile authorities while adhering to all departmental policies. Minimum Qualifications: Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer. Any disciplinary action in the last twelve months will be reviewed for qualification. Assigns, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work of volunteer ministers and students responsible for providing religious education and services for inmates incarcerated within the County detention facilities. Coordinates religious programs and activities with various department programs designed to educate or rehabilitate inmates. Provides pastoral counseling and conducts religious services in institutions. Plans, facilitates, and evaluates training programs designed to provide volunteers with an understanding of the practices and goals of ministry services and the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Anderson County Detention Facility. Plans and directs orientation programs for volunteer ministers, volunteer clergy members, and other community volunteers by providing guidance on dealing with the problems of inmates who are detained at Anderson County Detention Facility. Shares information with volunteers as to changes that have been made by the Anderson County Detention Center. Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old. High school diploma or GED-equivalent with six (6) months of experience in religious services or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid SC driver's license or the ability to obtain one before employment. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is accepting applications for the position of Detective.
