Anderson County, S.C. (March 2, 2018) – Oppermann Webbing, Inc., a German-based family owned company established in 1848; expanded into the US market and Anderson County in 2004. Today, Oppermann Webbing, Inc. announces plans to expand its current operations; bringing 71 new jobs and $10+ million in capital investment in Anderson County.

Oppermann Webbing has nine locations on three continents and is one of the world's leading webbing producers. Oppermann Webbing produces a variety of tie-downs and webbing for personal roadway safety through to sling webbing for the construction industry, aircraft safety belts or shock absorbers providing the optimum webbing through state of the art technology.

“This expansion is more evidence that we are a business-friendly county that works alongside our companies and provides an environment that allows an industry to prosper,” said Anderson County Council Chairman Tommy Dunn.

The expansion of the Oppermann Webbing operations in Anderson County is driven by the increase in demand for their products and meeting the needs of consumers. At their original location in Powdersville, Oppermann Webbing will expand their operations directly behind its existing facility. The expansion offers an immediate addition of 100,000 sq. ft. with the opportunity of 50,000 sq. ft. for future operations growth.

“Oppermann Webbing’s success and growth is another sign of that Anderson County’s economic imprint on the Upstate and South Carolina continues to show that Anderson County is the right place for companies from around the globe to do business,” said County Administrator Rusty Burns.

“Another exciting announcement for District 6 – We celebrate the company’s $10+ million investment and the creation of 71 new jobs in Piedmont,” said Councilman Ken Waters. “Piedmont is rapidly becoming a successful hub for economic development growth in our County.”
