Anderson County COVID-19 Communication and Response Update

County EMD, County Council, and County Administrator are coordinating with public health officials at the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to closely monitor a rapidly emerging outbreak of a novel coronavirus, now referred to as COVID-19. The virus was first identified in the city of Wuhan, China. Cases have been confirmed in several other countries, including the United States. At this time, 7 presumptive cases have been identified in South Carolina.

Gambrell, Chairman of the Anderson County Legislative Delegation has called a Special Session Delegation Meeting to be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. in Columbia, SC in the Gressette Building, Room 610. This meeting will be to consider the applicants for the following vacant seats that were advertised on December 20, 2019.

County Administrator Announces First Phase of Staff Reorganization

County Administrator, Rusty Burns, announces the first phase of an internal reorganization of County staff. Effective February 18th, Alesia Hunter is being promoted to Planning, Development, & Building Director along with Adrienne Cole being promoted to Civic Center Manager.
