The Board of Voter Registration and Elections is responsible for conducting all county, state, and federal elections that are held in Anderson County; to ensure that all elections are orderly, fair, and transparent.

The Board also serves as a resource for election support for Municipal Election Commissions.
The seven-member Board of Voter Registration and Elections is appointed by the Governor upon the recommendation of the Anderson County Legislative Delegation. An Executive Director is appointed by the Board to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Board of Voter Registration and Elections.
The Board meets on the second Thursday of each quarter at 4:45 pm at the Board of Voter Registration and Elections Office, 301 N. Main St., Anderson, SC.

In order to vote in an upcoming election, residents must register to vote 30 days prior to the election.
Precincts are open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm on all Election Days.

Based on state and federal law, each eligible applicant is registered within the proper precinct and various single-member districts. After application is received at the Board of Registration and Elections, you will receive a voter registration certificate confirming that your voter registration application has been approved and processed. Thank you for your interest in the election process! The Anderson County Board of Voter Registration and Elections is always looking for qualified Poll Managers to staff precincts throughout Anderson County on Election Day.
As a Poll Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to serve your community, meet your neighbors, and become involved in the electoral process. Poll Managers are compensated up to $135 and the clerk of the precinct receives up to $195 for each election they work.
