Anderson County, S.C. – A ribbon cutting ceremony at Equinox Park will be held on Thursday June 20, 2019 at 11 a.m.

Anderson County Parks and Recreation, United Way of Anderson County – Eat Smart Move More Coalition, Healthy Young People Empowerment Project Team (HYPE), Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC), and members of the community will gather for a ribbon cutting and celebration of the newly improved Equinox Park.

The Healthy Young People Empowerment Project (HYPE) volunteers completed the playground improvements in early June.   The playground improvements will accommodate people with disabilities and includes play areas for children ages 5-12 and 2-5 years old.  Some of the main playground features include a sliding board, climbing structures, four square, and a Born Learning Trail.  New features include an accessible pathway throughout the park connecting the different play spaces, an adaptable picnic table, and two inclusive play panels.

This project was funded by Anderson County Parks and Recreation and United Way of Anderson County Eat Smart Move More Coalition through a SC Blue Cross–Blue Shield mini grant award.

The community of Anderson County will enjoy the increased accessibility, safety, and play value of the County’s newly improved playground.

Location: Equinox Park, 2400 Standridge Road, Anderson.
