The Parks Department works to ensure that the availability of athletic, passive, and water recreation opportunities effectively serve the diverse needs and interests of area residents, as well as visitors.

Services Provided:

  • Coordinate maintenance requests, work orders, and compliance
  • Ensure county-owned and county-leased facilities are safe, well maintained, and inviting
  • Develop conceptual plans for existing and future county-owned and county-leased facilities
  • Compile preliminary cost estimates for proposed recreation projects
  • Maintain a prioritization plan for improvements, expansions, and new facilities
  • Perform yearly assessments of all county-owned and county-leased facilities.
  • Conduct yearly community input meetings for county-owned or county leased facilities
  • Maintain working relationships with community and athletic organizations
  • Manage PARD fund requests to equally support county-owned and county-leased facilities
  • Explore federal, state, and private funding to finance recreation projects
  • Maintain a facility web page highlighting locations, amenities, and photos

Objectives and Measures:

  • Improve appearance at county-owned and county-leased facilities
    Measure: Number of recreation facilities where appearance improved.
  • Increase trash and litter collection at county-owned and county-leased facilities
    Measure: Number of recreation facilities on a bi-monthly collection route.
  • Improve maintenance response time county-owned and county-leased facilities
    Measure: Number of maintenance repairs handled within one week of notification.
  • Solicit community input regarding county-owned and county-leased facilities to address needs, interests, concerns, or praise
    Measure: Number of community meetings held.

Gracie Floyd Event Center at McFalls Landing

This beautiful, contemporary facility opened in late 2009 on Broadway Lake in Anderson County. The building has a high, vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows overlooking Broadway Lake. The building’s kitchen is best used for set-up & prep. Your rental includes 14 sixty-inch round tables, 3 six-foot rectangle table and 100 chairs. McFalls Landing has a paved, outdoor patio on the lake. Its grounds are nicely landscaped.

Rent Space At McFall's Landing

Rental fees (*Rental times include preparation and clean-up): Half day rental - $300 (up to 6 hours)*; 
Full day rental - $800 (up to 16 hours)*; 
Two day rental - $1,600 (up to 32 hours)*; $100 refundable deposit. Security fee is $50 per hour for a minimum of 4 hours. Security is required for any event where alcohol is served, attended by more than 150 people, or lasting past 9 p.m.

Green Pond Landing & Event Center

Green Pond Landing and Event Center was opened on December 19, 2014 and features a three-lane concrete ramp that measures more than 280 feet long for historic periods of high and low water. It also has 166 truck/trailer parking spaces and 113 single parking spaces for spectators and co-anglers. The facility is ADA accessible.

Anderson County Farmer's Market

The Farmers Market is located in downtown Anderson. It is open to all local vendors that produce in Anderson County.

About the Farmer’s Market

No products grown outside the county are allowed unless the Farmers Market manager grants a waiver. The 7,670-square-foot shelter has 36 spaces available to be rented at $10 per day. The entire month can be reserved at $5 per day. The monthly fee must be paid in advance.

The market accepts WIC vouchers, senior vouchers, EBT, and SNAP benefits. Please see the market manager to redeem benefits. Gift certificates in $5 increments can be purchased. They are a great way to spread the word among your friends of the amazing finds at the Farmers Market.

Rent the Farmer’s Market Shelter

The Farmers Market shelter is a wonderful covered outdoor venue, perfect for weddings, parties, expos, and fundraisers. The rental fee is $200 per 8-hour period, and a $100 deposit is required to hold each date. The shelter has a small kitchen, restrooms, and ample free parking. Security is required for events that serve alcohol or have more than 150 guests.
