The Solid Waste department provides Anderson County residents with a cost-efficient Solid Waste program that delivers adequate recycling/reusing and disposal opportunities for household garbage, construction and demolition material, yard debris, and recyclables as well as developing anti-litter, beautification and recycling education programs which will promote the quality of life.
Organizations, businesses, and individuals pledge to clean and beautify a special place or county roadside. The group gets a sign in their spot and the pride of making our community a prettier place to live. To Adopt-a-Spot, please call the Keep Anderson County Beautiful Office at (864) 260-1001.
Keep Anderson County Beautiful aims to lead our community in litter prevention and recycling. In 2016, Anderson County was the only county in South Carolina to reach SCDHEC’s 40% recycling rate goal. Not only did Anderson County reach the goal but we surpassed the goal with a 42% recycling rate! Anderson County Solid Waste and Keep Anderson County Beautiful would like to thank our residents and businesses for making it possible to achieve this remarkable accomplishment. Because of your recycling, you have made our home a better place to live, work and play! Keep Anderson County Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB), the nation’s leading nonprofit that builds vibrant communities. The KACB Coordinator is Samantha Porter. To request supplies or report bag counts, please call 260-1001 or email sbporter@andersoncountysc.org
Anderson County Solid Waste provides a drop-off recycling program for county residents. We accept mixed paper, cardboard, plastic bottles & jugs, aluminum cans, steel cans, motor oil, cooking oil and electronics at all of our convenience centers.
