Anderson County, S.C. (May 20, 2020) – Due to heavy rains, Anderson County Wastewater has experienced Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO’s) at three pump stations. The pump stations that have reported overflows are:

Hembree Creek Pump Station (301), 202 Timberlake Road, estimated overflow 75,000 gallons.
Stonehaven Pump Station (303), Sussex Way, estimated overflow 30,000 gallons.
Gilmer Pump Station (305), Rhodehaven Drive, estimated overflow 5,000 gallons.

Rainfall of over 6 inches has been recorded at these locations in Anderson County since 12: 00 AM on May 20th. DHEC has been notified along with Anderson Regional Water. Wastewater Staff is on-site with generators to restore power at stations, By-pass pumps are being used along with pumper trucks to assist in handling the excessive flows.
