You are all invited; June 6, 2026, to Dolly Cooper Park in Powdersville to participate in an exclusive kayaking and camping event for this weekend only.

“This is a great event for our P-towns on the Saluda River: Powdersville, Piedmont, and the Pelzers. We have access points in all of them and exploring additional opportunities along the corridor.” — Councilman Jimmy Davis, Anderson County Council District 6

Registration features a scenic 9-mile, 3-hour, paddle on the Saluda River to the newly opened Piedmont Riverfront Park. It also includes complimentary shuttle service back to Dolly Cooper, event t-shirt, opportunity to camp on the river, and additional water release from the Saluda Lake Dam on Saturday. All the while, this event raises money for Special Olympics Area 14.

“We always look forward to our returning paddlers and the first timers. The excitement is contagious and draws people from across the Southeast.” — Sharon Nicometo, Anderson County Parks Department

Dolly Cooper and Piedmont Riverfront parks are now uniquely connected by the Saluda River, ADA accessible kayak launch facilities, and River Road. This year marks the first rally event with permanent, year-round, formal access.

“This annual celebration of ‘river life’ in Anderson County is always on the first Saturday of June which is National Trails Day; recognizing the benefits provided by Federal, State, and Local trails. June is also National Outdoors Month. As a 48-mile Blueway, we are a water recreation destination.” — Matt Schell, Anderson County Parks Department Manager

Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or trying kayaking for the first time, come celebrate Anderson County’s rich history, America’s 250th birthday, and the natural beauty of the Saluda River while supporting a great cause.

See you on the river June 6, 2026!
