The Anderson County Bicentennial Parade commemorates 200 years of local history in a lively and welcoming setting. Community members are encouraged to participate and enjoy the celebration. There is no entry fee, and all participants should align with the Bicentennial theme. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | JANUARY 30, 2019 | ANDERSON, SC

Anderson County, S.C. in partnership with the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Division is sponsoring a “Blanket and Winter Clothing Drive.”

Beginning today at 1:00 p.m. and running through Friday, February 1, at 5:00 p.m. donations will be accepted at the Civic Center of Anderson located at 3027 Martin Luther King Blvd.

Citizens can donate new or nearly new items including: blankets, coats, new socks, scarves, gloves, beanies/hats and warm clothes inside the entrance of the Civic Center Main Lobby during normal operating hours, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Donations will be distributed to local organizations who are helping the community during extreme winter conditions such as those we are currently experiencing. For more information or questions, please contact the Emergency Management Division at (864) 332-5732.
