Improvements to Include Accessible Picnic Shelter and Expanded Parking Lot
Anderson County, S.C. (April 11, 2022) – On Friday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m., County Council will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for improvements at Dolly Cooper Park in Powdersville.
County Councilman Jimmy Davis, who represents the area on County Council said, regarding the park improvements, “This is a more than half-million-dollar investment that will benefit people of all ages and from all walks of life in our community for decades to come.” Mr. Davis continued, “This project would not be possible without the support of my fellow County Council members, our legislative delegation partners Rep. Cox and Sen. Richard Cash, and NewSpring Church. It has been a pleasure working with Senator Cash on this project, and we could not do this without him.”
Rep. West Cox, who represents the area in the S.C. House of Representatives, said, “I’m proud to be a partner in this project, and I know that it will benefit thousands of families and children in our community for many years to come.” Rep. Cox continued, “Breaking ground on a project like this reminds me why I chose public service in the first place: to work to make our community better in real, concrete ways for all of us.”
The improvements at Dolly Cooper Park follow more than a decade of strategic focus and investment by County Council on parks across Anderson County.
