A message from the LHPCW Board “We are thrilled to introduce the ‘Trash Tank’ to the Lake Hartwell community. This project has been a labor of love, and we are grateful for the support from our partners, donors, and volunteers who have made it possible. The ‘Trash Tank’ will play a crucial role in our mission to protect and preserve this beautiful natural resource.”

Litter costs our nation $11 billion per year and impacts our local community and prosperity. In a lake system, litter can severely impact wildlife and release microplastics and other contaminants into our waterways.

The event is open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend. There will be opportunities for media interviews and photo ops following the ceremony.
