Golden Years Jamboree (GYJ) is the signature event of the Anderson County Senior Citizens Program. GYJ began in 1978 by Jo Brown and her team to celebrate seniors across the county. Jo’s last Golden Years Jamboree was in 1993. In 2016, her daughter,  Kelly Jo Barnwell, re-launched the event. The Senior Expo sponsors have given $70,000 back to our hometown. This year’s Senior Expo recipient is The LOT Project

The Senior Expo will be at the Civic Center of Anderson on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 9 until 10 a.m., followed by “the biggest party” to celebrate our seniors!

The GYJ #7 party includes:

•          Dr. Mac Arnold & Plate Full of Blues

•          Three of the dances from Dancing For Our Heroes

•          Door prizes

•          The 13th Annual Sunflower Dessert Showcase (if you’re a senior baker, bring your favorite dessert with a sunflower theme for our display), and

•          The 26th Annual Jo Brown Senior Citizen of the Year award.
