The 2023 Strike King Bassmaster High School National Championship will be held from Thursday July 27th through Saturday July 29th at Green Pond Landing on Lake Hartwell. More than 480 boats with teams representing 39 states and Canada are scheduled to participate.
In an effort to support the participants and spectators visiting from across the continent, Anderson County is partnering with the US Army Corps of Engineers and Portman Marina in order to program three additional boat ramps in the vicinity of Green Pond Landing for tournament support.
Area residents and recreational boaters should be advised of temporary operational changes at the following access facilities:
Green Pond Landing & Event Center:
- Closed to the public for boat launching Thursday 7/27 and Friday 7/28.
- No boat parking permitted as a spectator or competitor during weigh-in.
Broyles Recreation Area:
- A portion of the parking area will be supporting the tournament; public boat launching will be available as long as space allows.
River Forks Recreation Area:
- The entire boat ramp parking area and West Beach will be closed to the public for boat launching on Thursday 7/27 and Friday 7/28.
- The East Beach recreation area will remain open for day use.
Portman Marina:
- A portion of the parking area will be supporting the tournament; public boat launching will be available as long as space allows.
All residents should further be advised of the potential for heavier-than-normal vehicular and marine traffic in the area.
