The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and Thrift Development Corporation are working on the intersection located at SC 153 and River Road in Anderson County. Thrift Development will need to establish a temporary road closure of River Road on the southern side of the intersection for the constructability of drainage features and safety. Access will be maintained for the properties within the road closure.
The intersection will be closed on June 9, 2021. Pending any delays due to weather or other unforeseen issues, the roadway is expected to re-open to traffic approximately August 7, 2021. The Anderson County School District, Anderson County Sheriff’s Department, and the emergency management services are being advised of the pending closure.
We do not anticipate that any businesses will be affected significantly by the closure.
