REGIONAL VOTER  REGISTRATION FORUMS BEING HELD

Anderson County Elections Board will be hosting regional Voter Registration Forums around the county. These meetings are designed to bring awareness of polling location changes in some areas, along with precinct re-designation, importance of registering to vote before deadlines, and providing updated voter information such as name changes, and address changes. Over all the goal of the meetings are to prepare citizens before 2020 Elections.

“It is extremely important for people to register to vote and to keep their registration information updated. We made it convenient and easy to do online,  in-person at our office, or by mail; voters simply choose which method works best for them,” stated Katy Smith, Director of Voter Registration and Elections. “However, with some recent changes to polling locations or precinct lines we felt it important to get out in the communities to talk with our voters and answer questions.”

The Voter Registration Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and is located at 301 N. Main Street, downtown Anderson. If  registering in-person you need a current photo i.d. and documentation with your name and current residential address. Some of the acceptable documents are S.C. Driver’s license, current utility bill, or bank statement.  Citizens that choose to register to vote by mail or online can do so at www.scvotes.org and follow the appropriate links.

“We simply want to encourage voters get prepared now to vote in 2020 by getting registered or verifying their voter information with us, and to know where they go to vote.”
