Mt. Bethel Church Road, Belton, had an existing 72” diameter corrugated metal pipe which was undersized for larger rain events, and the bottom of the pipe was starting to rust. A large rain event caused half of the road to wash out and the pipe was damaged during this event. It was determined that the 72” diameter pipe needed to be replaced with a larger 6ft x 10ft box culvert. The installation of the Box Culvert was completed on 12/1/23. The design, layout, and installation was performed by Anderson County crews. Due to using internal crews Anderson County saved an estimated $450,000.00.
