The success of the Southern Soul Rodeo in Simpsonville, SC, which drew thousands of fans on May 17th to the upstate, demonstrates the wave of momentum and demand for authentic Southern Soul experiences. “People in Anderson have been asking for this,” says Knuckles. “Every time we’ve done a show in Greenville, the number one question is, ‘When are you coming to Anderson?’ We knew the time was now.”
King George, known for hits that dominate Southern Soul charts, will take the stage alongside fan favorite Uncle Daddy and rising star Tonio Armani, who is signed to Death Row Records. This marks the first time all three artists will perform on the same bill, bringing energy, crowd connection, and undeniable Southern charm.
Southern Soul, a fusion of old-school gospel, rhythm and blues, country storytelling, and church-rooted harmonies, is quickly becoming a hot music genre in America. “It’s the sound of Sunday mornings and Saturday cookouts,” says Reverend Donaldson. “It’s music with heart—and people feel that.”
Bringing this event to the Civic Center of Anderson was an intentional move. “It’s a clean, accessible venue with plenty of space and great parking,” Knuckles adds. “We partnered with Anderson County because they’re trusted and committed to building something long-term. This isn’t just a show—it’s a cultural moment for Anderson.”
The promoters, both raised in the Upstate, say their goal is bigger than just one night. “Our mission is to bring joy, create opportunities for local talent, and elevate live music in communities that deserve more attention,” says Knuckles. “This is just the beginning.”
