The Striped Bass Challenge, a competitive fishing event with a purpose, will take place in Anderson County on January 10th. The event brings together anglers from across the region while giving back to the local communities that make these fisheries possible.
The Striped Bass Challenge is hosted by a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the communities where its events are held. In keeping with that mission, proceeds and donations from this year’s Anderson County event will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, helping provide food assistance to individuals and families in need.
“This event is about more than fishing,” said organizers of the Striped Bass Challenge. “We believe in giving back to the communities that support us, and partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank allows us to make a meaningful impact right here in Anderson County.”
The one-day tournament will showcase competitive striped bass fishing while encouraging community involvement, conservation awareness, and charitable giving. Anglers, sponsors, and spectators alike are invited to be part of an event that combines outdoor sportsmanship with local outreach.
The weigh in and awards presentation will take place at Green Pond Landing. The tournament will begin on Saturday at 7am with “Lines In” and “Lines Out” at 3pm. All teams must be checked in at Green Pond Landing at 4pm. The weigh in will begin at 4pm. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will be assisting the Striped Bass Challenge with the tournament weigh-in.
