FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | ANDERSON, SC (November 28, 2018) – Team Palmetto Wrestling proudly announces the first-ever “Southeastern Border Wars” wrestling competition Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center, 3027 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Anderson. The two-day event, hosted by the South Carolina Youth Wrestling Association, features hundreds of young wrestlers from five states in a two-day freestyle competition. The event is presented by TRZ Management, LLC.
“This is the first annual state Border Wars,” said Todd McCormick, one of the event organizers. “It’s the first step in making South Carolina a power house in wrestling, and we look forward to making it bigger and better every year”.
Southeastern Border Wars will feature more than 400 boys and girls, age 12 and up, from South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee in freestyle wrestling competition. It is the largest event of this type ever hosted in Upstate South Carolina. Competition begins at 9:00 AM Saturday, and concludes Sunday afternoon.
Registration details for interested wrestlers are available on the Facebook page of the South Carolina Youth Wrestling Association. Sign-up ends Thursday, November 29th at 10 PM. Weigh-ins for registered wrestlers are 6:00-8:30 PM on Friday, November 30th, and 6:30-8:00 AM on Saturday, December 1st. There is a $25 registration fee per wrestler.
