At Anderson County PAWS, our mission is to protect, care for, and advocate for animals in need through sheltering, adoption, lifesaving programs, education, spay and neuter services, and community partnerships. Our vision is a compassionate community where every animal is valued, treated with kindness, and given the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and loved life.

All adoptions are done in-person first come, first served. Come meet our adoptable pets during open hours: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat 12-5.
The Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormer, flea treatment, microchip and heartworm test (for dogs over 6 months of age). A rabies vaccination is given to animals over 12 weeks of age.
Large Dogs: $10 | Small Dogs/Puppies: $40 | Cats & Kittens: $20

You provide a home & TLC! We provide the furry friend, supplies, food and veterinary care.
Medical/Behavior- this program is for pets that are not ready to be adopted yet due to medical or behavior concerns. These animals will rely on a foster family to help them get ready for adoption.
Neonate/Pregnant/Nursing- mothers and their litters, or little ones without mothers. These pets will rely on a foster family until they’re old enough for surgery/adoption.
Foster Ambassador- these pets will rely on their foster family to help them make a match with an adopter.
Fospice- these pets are at the end of their lives and need a restful place to spend their remaining days, however long that may be.
Daycation & Slumber Pawty- short-term foster for folks that would like to take a dog for a day or overnight for a fun-filled break from the shelter. This is not only enrichment for the dog, but a great way to find out more about their personality.
IF YOU’RE HAVING AN EMERGENCY WITH YOUR FOSTER PET, please email us ASAP at PawsRescue@AndersonCountySC.org with the subject line “FOSTER EMERGENCY”. A supervisor will reach out with next steps.

Anyone 13 years and older can volunteer! There is no weekly commitment, we work with your schedule! Volunteers ages 13-15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Volunteers ages 16 and up can volunteer unsupervised, but must have an adult attend orientation with them.
We are currently accepting new volunteers! If you’re interested in joining the Anderson County PAWS team, please complete our volunteer application and we’ll be in touch soon. Thank you for your support and for helping us care for animals in need!
Lost or Found a pet? Search for your pet on Facebook and post on PawBoost and PetcoLove.
Due to the high number of animals currently in our care, Anderson County PAWS is operating at or near capacity. We are accepting stray animals and owner surrenders by appointment only at this time. If you need assistance, please email us at pawsrescue@andersoncountysc.org to request an intake appointment. Our team will review each request and respond as quickly as possible. We are also happy to provide resources and guidance to help pet owners explore alternatives when appropriate. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of our lifesaving work.
We are not a full-service veterinary clinic, but have compiled a list of local options.
