Registered voters who need to vote absentee in-person for the May 18 Fire Commission Tax Levy Referendum and June 1 County Council District 2 elections may do so now. Unlike elections in 2020 where anyone could vote absentee, only those with a qualifying reason may vote now. “Voters that are in these districts and have a qualifying reason may vote absentee at our office, but it is important that citizens understand that not everyone is registered in these districts,” said, Katy Smith, Director. “It is somewhat confusing for citizens to understand if they should be voting in these elections. We encourage them to call us now to verify.”Voters in the following cities and towns are not eligible to vote in the Anderson County Fire Commission Tax Levy Referendum: Anderson, Belton, Honea Path, and Williamston or in the service district of Piedmont. These voters are not serviced by the Anderson County Fire Department, but rather their local fire departments. In addition, only voters that are in the County Council District 2 area are eligible to vote on June 1. This election is to elect a candidate from District 2 to fulfill the unexpired term of Gracie Floyd, who passed back in January of this year.CONTACT REGISTRATION https://www.andersoncountysc.org/…/registration-elections/
