2020 Basspro.com Bassmaster Open Set for September at Lake Hartwell

Next year’s tournament schedule continues to take shape, as B.A.S.S. officials announced the 2020 Basspro.com Bassmaster Opens schedule on Thursday. The Eastern Division points race and the Elite Series berths that go with it will be decided at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. — site of three previous Bassmaster Classics and six major B.A.S.S. events — on Sept. 24-26.

Two Day T-H Marine FLW Bass Fishing Tournament to Return to Lake Hartwell

The T-H Marine FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) South Carolina Division will wrap up their tournament season for anglers with a two-day BFL Super Tournament on Lake Hartwell, Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29. Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $11,000 and $4,500 respectively in the two-day event.

Denver Downs Makes #4 in Top 10 Best Corn Maze in the U.S.

For the second year in a row and third time overall,  Denver Downs Farm, based in Anderson, SC, was voted the fourth best corn maze in the United States by USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest.  Denver Downs also made the Top 10 list in 2016 and 2018 and was selected again this year, out of over 500 corn mazes in the U.S.

County Announces Town Hall Meetings in Townville & Powdersville Communities

County Council has scheduled two town hall meetings concerning the proposed County road fee. The meetings will be held on: County Council District 4 – Wednesday, September 25th at Double Springs Fire Department, 2601 Old Dobbins Bridge Road, Townville, SC beginning at 6:00 p.m. County Council District 6 – Monday, September 30th at Powdersville Fire Department, 10600 Anderson Road, Easley, SC beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Regional Voter Registration Forums Being Held

Anderson County Elections Board will be hosting regional Voter Registration Forums around the county. These meetings are designed to bring awareness of polling location changes in some areas, along with precinct re-designation, importance of registering to vote before deadlines, and providing updated voter information such as name changes, and address changes. Over all the goal of the meetings are to prepare citizens before 2020 Elections.
